Abstract in Turquoise

Here is an abstract I did recently. I was thinking of the evening sky, the earth and my children. It is 30 X 40 inches, oil on canvas.

Ok here's ANOTHER abstract...still haven't done a portrait this summer! 

Here are two new abstracts. They are both original 18 x 20" oil on canvas. I haven't thought up a title for these yet...

Got inspired today to do an abstract I've been thinking about. Here it is! Hmmm...I like it.

First day of my blog!  So here are my latest paintings. The brown and orange one is actually 30 x 40" but looks square here. The blue/green one is 30 x 30" It is actually a more brilliant turquoise but you get the idea. Both are oil on canvas.

Well today is the first day of my blog. It is summer vacation for teachers here in Texas. One of my goals this summer was to paint, but specifically, to paint portraits. So far that hasn't happened. I did make a floral painting for a friends daughter to go in her first apartment.  Next, I painted a small floral for my sister. She liked the large one I did which was 30 x 40" but wanted a smaller version for her home. I painted a 24 x 20" of the same subject.  I have a trip planned to visit my sisters in Maryland in a few weeks. My challenge to myself is to paint at least one portrait before I go.
